Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory of the City of Rio de Janeiro - Executive Summary

Abstract

The development of an inventory is essential to understand the level of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and their main sources. It is an indispensable document for analyzing issues related to the intensification of the greenhouse effect caused by human activities and enables the identification of key sectors for the implementation of actions and measures. At the municipal level, it provides the necessary information to propose a Municipal Climate Change Policy and an action plan that includes objective measures to mitigate GHG emissions in the City of Rio de Janeiro.
