Abstract
The Municipal Department of Education aims to universalize the seven-hour school shift by 2030. The transition to a seven-hour shift will reduce the number of available spots. In effect, in a school currently operating with two or sometimes three shifts, there will only be one shift. This will require careful planning which, if not done properly, could lead to a reduction in elementary education coverage in regions where it is currently universal.
